Our Vision

…to see mankind become productive in every area of their life, so that we, the body of Christ, may have a positive effect on our society through Jesus Christ."

Apostle Michael J. Williams was born Lake City, Florida. He was a standout high school athlete, a Blue Chip All-American (line-backer) in football, and a 3-time State Weightlifting champion. In early May of 1995, at the age of eighteen, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Savior. He spent his first year of college at Bethune Cookman College, and then transferred to Valdosta State University (VSU), where he played football and received a B.A. in Business Marketing. In 1997, while in prayer, the Lord told him to start a campus ministry and to call it Team Jesus. The Lord also told him to start having prayer meetings and bible studies on Friday nights and midnight prayer meetings on Thursdays on the front lawn at VSU. He responded, "Lord, I can't do it. I haven't been to school to be a preacher and, besides, there are pastor's kids out there you can use. Why not use them?" Nevertheless, he did what God asked him to do.

God blessed the Team Jesus ministry, with hundreds of souls experiencing God's healing, deliverance, and salvation. During his senior year at VSU, in 1999, he was the Most Valuable Player (MVP). The opportunity to try-out for the Atlanta Falcons or to play in the Canadian League, presented itself. However, he had a leg injury that was not healing. Therefore, he went before the Lord in prayer, and God showed him a vision of him preaching to a great multitude of people of all nationalities. In the vision, the people were pointing at him. Then he asked, "Lord, why are these people pointing towards me?" The Lord said, "Because you have what they need." At that moment, football took the form of a person and walked up out of his back; and, he turned to football and said, "I have to do what the Lord wants me to do now."

In November 2000, he was ordained a pastor by Apostle Kathy Kinchen. God spoke to him, in 2001, while traveling through the Douglasville area that he was to plant a church there.  This is The Salt and Light Church, Inc. today. He has since been commissioned by God, as an Apostle, to relay the foundation of the Church, which is the Body of Christ. He has helped to establish the Seed, Time & Harvest International Ministry, Inc., in Boston, GA, pastored by Carl and Marlena Wilson. Apostle Michael and his wife Anita have three loving children and currently reside in Villa Rica, GA.

Anita Williams, a native of Carrollton GA, is committed to serving God with her whole heart, which is something that she has found to be a total submission to worshiping Him in everything she does.

In addition to serving and supporting the vision of The Salt & Light Church with her husband, Anita is able to reach the people and spread the Gospel of Jesus through an outreach ministry called “Virtuous Women Workshop Ministries”, which she and her mother Dicylle Elder launched in 2004 in their family living room. In 2003, God gave them the vision of reaching out to other women who like Anita, were single mothers who felt that they were wasting away from the pain of rejection, broken relationships, abuse, and identity. With the help of Jesus and guidance of the Holy Spirit along with several of their ministry team partners, Anita overcame many challenges that she had faced and now shares her life's journey by ministering to men, women, and children on how they too can overcome adversity and walk in victory. She believes that true repentance as spoken in God's Word and revealed through Jesus Christ equips us to conquer all spiritual attacks that we face in life whether it is demonic, health, financial, or relational.

Anita is a graduate of Grambling State University where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing and Computer Information Systems. She also serves as the Director of Economic Development at West Georgia Technical College. In addition, Anita dedicates much of her time to inspire others to live a life that is Holy and pleasing to God and also to know just how much God loves and cares for our every need as a believer and how He longs to give us our hearts desire when we totally surrender to Him and obey. She is a firm believer in the one true Word of God and makes it very clear in her teachings that the body of Christ must become “un-learned” in their thinking and views that could easily stunt the growth of the body. She also believes that it is only when we truly seek the face of God and turn away from religious mindsets that we will begin to walk in the fullness of God’s glory of miracles, signs, and wonders of healing and deliverance.
